USB WinXP SE47 No Workie???

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have the SE47, USB cable from Kyocera, and WinXP. The drivers loaded and everything looks good. Phone is on Com2 with no conflicts.

When I go into Hyper Term and type AT I get nothing.

Is the phone/USB cable compatible with XP?

Thanks in advance.

what com port speed is the phone set to?
menu-settings-accessories-comportspeed
make sure to set the same thing in hyperterminal
default i think is 115200
also try 19200
if you arent using bell's highspeed 1x data services you dont need 115200 so just set it to 19200

Thanks for your response.

I have the speed set to 19200. I've messed around with alot of settings trying to get the thing to work with no luck.

Are you running USB and on XP?

Before I kill myself trying to get it working I would like to atleast verify that someone has successfully got everything working on XP.

yup xp and usb

what com port number did it assign?
try uninstalling/reinstalling hte driver
try typeing 'atz' instead
should work...
maybe try 115200 after all
wahts the name of your driver in the device manager? shoould be something like:
Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COMx)
(where x is the com port number)

Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM4)

Did you have to install Kyocera CDMA Modem? I tried it with the Modem installed and without.

What USB are you running, 2.0?

I'm starting to think that maybe I have a bad cable.

I had this same problem recently with Bitpim 0.62..I reinstalled the drivers and everything, no luck. After I uninstalled Bitpim and reinstalled it with the 0.7test9 version of Bitpim, it worked fine.

Oh, and yes, I have the SE47, USB and Win XP.

I have both 0.7test9 and 0.62 versions of BitPim on WinXP. If i go into test 9 first, connect, close out, the go into .62, it works every time. I have an SE47 and a Kyocera USB.

i think you might have a bad cable too
"at" shoudl get you an "ok" in hyperterminal.
try another computer first
try kyocera phone desktop too

Menu > Settings > Accessories > Com Speed

It's probably set to 230.4.

19.2 and 115.2 should work.
