A co worker of mine bought a CD and cable from some where on the web. Can't remember the vendor.

Well he brought it to work and I have been messing with it. XP detects the phone as if it where any other USB Device. When I use the PC Sync software it says auto detect but trying to do it via com 1 not USB.

I have no option to change it.

Every time I unplug and plug the modem in it says it needs drivers.

I am attaching a screen shot of the contects of this CD.

All he wants to do is backup his phonebook and be able to put pictures on the phone from the PC and take pics off the phone to the PC.

Does anyone have the correct software and drivers? This CD doesn't seem to be doing it. Also it's not XP certified because I get that warning but the software installs fine.

TIA!!

it's ok if it's not XP certified. I got my usb cable and CD off ebay and installed the CD and works fine.

I got it to work at my machine at work but it took 5 install tries and it finally worked....not really sure what is going.

Does anyone know if there is better software.

Also does anyone know of any software where you can take and put images to the phone??

Here's a clip from the auction I won:

USB Driver is included. Driver configures the computer's COM port 4 (COM4) to be a USB port so that EasyGPRS can be used with the cable.

Note: EasyGPRS does not allow or recognize a USB connection; however, this data cable will configure the computer's COM4 to be a USB port. After installing USB driver, choose COM4 as your connection in EasyGPRS.

Maybe setting yours to COM4 will help.

Just a thought,

Eric

Cool, let me know if it works. Hopefully mine will arrive in the next day or so. I can't wait to try it.

are you having problem with installing the software or phone trying to connect to the comp?
if you are trying to figure out why it's not connecting even though BitPimV.62 does look for the port automatically...go look up in My computer->properties->hardware->device manager->under Port see where your USB cable is pluged(which COMport)
hope that helps if you are still having problem email me at sojumk@comcast.com and i'll send you my driver which i got
