hello everyone, I bought my s40 in U.S. but his sw. ver is 5.0.0;you know, there are some bugs in it!
I want to upgrade it ,but there is no siemens S.C. can help me to upgrade my phone ,because there have no s40 on sale at here. So,I need a high ver. firmware (7.0.0,or 9.0.0) and flash it buy myself with my s40 data-line.
if your s40 is 7.0.0 Ver. or 9.0.0 Ver. and you have the s40 data-line too ,would you save you firmware as file and send it to me?
thank for you kindness and thank you very much!

my email is alonpam@21cn.com

hi alonpam,

i've been through versions 3.2, 5.0, 7.0 and finally 9.0. version 3.2 had a few quirks as far as i was concerned but the shift to 5.0 did away with all that. i haven't seen any siignificant difference from 5.0 to 9.0, so i'm not really sure what 'bugs' you've seen in your phone.

you failed to mention where you're from and only managed to say that you purchased your s40 in the u.s. unfortunately, whatever application(s) and data files siemens uses for flashing the s40 is not available to consumers - only THEY can do that. unless you're willing to ship your phone to the u.s. expressly for that purpose, i'm afraid there's nothing anyone else can do for you.

hope this helps.

I'm the webmaster of www.s40forum.de. Believe me that you will hardly encounter any bugs in 5.0.0 that are solved in 7.0.0 or 9.0.0. So I think the update isn't worth the hassle, especially in your case.

I had a feeling you were going to bring that up.
