PC Sync problems for Nokia 6230

Hi There,

Ive just bought a new 6230, all going great, however I am having a few small sync issues and thought someone might be able to offer me some advice?

I am using the following:
- Nokia 6230
- Lotus Notes 5.0.10
- Connected with a DKU2 USB cable
- Nokia PCSuite 5.8 (downloaded from Nokia)

The first time I sync'd the phone and Notes program it seemed to work fine, however Ive since noticed that not all meetings / appointments have transferred from Notes to the phone. I have also noticed that none of the appointments that were in the phones calendar have been added to my Notes calendar.

I have adjusted the settings to allow data to be transferred in both directions.

I'm not sure what Im doing wrong!

On another note - I cannot access the 'phone browser' from my PC. It opens as though it is going to work, then I get an error message saying 'the operation could not be completed' when I click on any of the directories within the phone.

Any advice is much appreciated...

Cheers,
sam

Can't solve you sync problem but CAN solve Gallery error.
1. Go into gallery using phone and give your MMC a name eg MMC
2. Turn the phone off and remove memory card.
3. turn on phone still without card and connect to pc. you should be able to access everything else.
4. Disconnect from pc and turn off phone.
5. Insert MMC card and switch phone back on.
6. Connect to pc and you should now be able to access all the gallery including the MMC.

I won't explain why it works but it did for me!

everytime you make a new arrangement you would have to sync with your pc. Make known of the place where the pc will store your information.
You would be able to see your phone browser if you have your cables sync with your phone.
I did not buy a cable to sync with my pc even though I have tried it before as I feel that using a bluetooth dongle is much more efficient.

i have that same error too.
My phone does sync.
and when i enter nokia file manager i see my phone.
but when i press my phone name, i only get "operation not complete"

i tried renaming mmc card, still connected and turn on and off.
tried disconnecting, then renaming and turn off on.
even tried to take out the mmc card.
but still no connection.
any ideas ?

This worked for me: go to Start/Run and enter

Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll

Click OK and the "phone browser" works again!

Thank you very much, has been 2 weeks since my last sync when I started to have the problems with the pcsuite, now everything works just fine with my 6230..
that worked perectly for me...

Dirk

ps. how you figure out that???

I turned off my 3200 phone while connected to the PC, then turned it back on. It began asking for a Restriction Code and the phone no longer works.. I think it's a flaw with the phone, but so far I haven't been able to find any help..

mrossi's solution got my phone syncing again. It had stopped working giving unhelpful messages after I had spent a day trying to get network connections working with another PC. I've saved the instruction fpr posterity.
Not often that you get a fix that takes a few seconds to do, does not involve re-installing everything, or even powering of an on again.
I have not the slightest idea of how the fix works, but it worked for me
Thank you.

Dave

Itīs a known issue, but the thing is that itīs not caused by PC Suite. If you are using or have had Nero 7 installed on your computer, this program seems to unregister this file from the register. It might also be caused by 1000 other reasons that the file has been unregistered and needs to be registered manually.

The library file ole2.dll, is required by windows and is used when performing OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) operations . OLE allows objects created in one application to be embedded in documents/objects created by a different applications e.g. embedding information from the Nokia phone inside a File Explorer window.

Do any of you guys know how to stop PC suite loading when you turn the PC on?
I hate it when programs assume that you want them to to this, and should always have an option to turn this function off

I just purchased the Nokia 6265i and a USB Bluetooth adapter for my PC. I've downloaded the Nokia Suites and installed the adapter, and also bought a 512 mini SD card for this phone. Before installing the SD card I was only able to download one or two songs to the phone without the extra storage, but now I'm having problems with transferring music from my PC. When i select a song it acts as if it's downloading to the phone and then I get an error msg saying Bluetooth connection failed and also not enough room on phone. I haven't even put anything on this new SD card so why am I not able to add songs to my phone's music player? Can someone please help me out on this matter. I'm starting to think I should have stayed with my old SLVR L7 it was much easier than this. What am I doing wrong?

I personally don't have bluetooth on my pc, but I think the problem is exactly what you think it is, the pc is connected to your phone and not to the minisd card on your phone. Maybe someone here knows how to access the minisd card through bluetooth but not me. My suggestion is simply to either use a sd card reader and just put songs onto your minisd card that way. Or consider freeing up your memory on your phone by copying the files on your phone to the minisd using the setting on your phone and then deleting them off your phone and therefore allowing you to move more files to your phone via bluetooth, kinda time consuming but definitely a possibility.

In case your wondering it's pretty cheap to get a sd card reader these days and the transfer speeds beat bluetooth transfer many folds. However taking the damn minisd out of the phone is a bit of a pain.
