P900 with HS-810

Hi All

It looks like the Motorola HS-810 is the perfect bluetooth headset for the P900. Everthing works accept one thing: One is supposed to answer incoming calls with opening the boom. It answers the call ok, but does not transfer the audio to the headset. One has to use the button on the headset to do this. This causes a 4-8 second delay, which is unacceptable. Is there a way to get this working properly or a work-around? Currently I am keeping the boom open at all times and only use the button, but it would be nice to use the boom, also saving battery power. By the way, if you are in a call and open the boom then, it works, it is just if you try and answer a call with the boom. Please help!!!

I also use P900 and HS810.
The same here:
I cannot answer an incoming call properly if the boom is not opened before. that's why i'm always keeping the boom open - to recieve call propely.
I don't think there is a solution to this problem - if happens at all the phones I ever tried with this headset.
And yes, you sure can open the boom during a call...

I don't know if you have the specific problem that i'm having:
(When using enabled voice dialing it is noticeable) When you open the boom to connect the headset to the P900, have you seen a strange thing ones it a while in how long the connecting lasts? sometimes, it lasts 2 sec. until the headset is connected, and sometimes it lasts 5 sec. Have you noticed any changes ones in a while?

By the way, I didn't succeed using the redial option with my P900, did you try it?

Ido.

If I recall correctly, the redial function is only available if you use the Handsfree profile on the headset. Doesn't work with the Headset Profile. Unfortunately, the P900 only supports the Headset Profile

I found a workaround for the P900 and HS-810. If you disable voice answer (not voice dialling) and disable play caller name on the P900, the boom fuctionality to answer calls while it is ringing works!!! I've reported this to Sony Ericsson and they should hopefully fix it in the next firmware release.

There was an issue when the P900 was in silent mode, but they've fixed that in firmware release R5B02 (CDA162003/5) and boom answering on the HS-810 is working properly.

This is because when the boom is closed it shuts off, for power saving. When the boom is open, it takes the four second to turn on and established the connection.

As the previous post stated, when the boom is closed the headset is completely off, not in standby. When you open the boom, the headset first must turn on, then connect to your phone and then answer the call. Nothing is wrong there, that is just how it works. Actually, it is pretty quick to do this in comparison to other headsets....turn on, connect to phone, answer an incoming call...not bad...

If you don't like keeping it on your ear, but want to leave it in standby, just take the headset of but leave it open. It would be cool if Motorola gave the option to leave it in standby with the boom closed though...I wouldn't use that feature, but you guys might like it.
