Guys, I have looked all over the treo threads and I still can't find some of the valuable info on the infamous Treo 600. So i'm thinking since I am a newbie to the Treo I will start this thread and ask for help and advice. This might also be a good place to posts info that can help other newbies. First off: I just got my Treo600 today and I need some good detailed info on how to unlock it and what hardware and software I will need to do so. Second: after unlocking it what is the latest greatest version of firmware and software out there to put on it. Maybe one of the great Treo600 minds on the board can put together some info for newbies like myself. I would very much appreciate it.

Also, which carrier is treo locked on to?

you can find the latest firmware from PalmOne support website, and the link I posted in above.

Make sure you DO NOT pay anyone for ANY softwares regarding firmware upgrade and unlock. because they are FREE.

well i'm using the newests firmware of 3.05 and so far its great.. no problems...

sorry to sound like a party pooper but for help on usage of the treo, there are a few valuable resources that you can refer to before creating a thread about it.

1) www.treocentral.com and their forums.
2) This forum. Just click SEARCH and enter the keyword that best describes your concern or question.
3) http://www.mytreo.net/
4) http://portal.treobits.com/
5) http://t600.servehttp.com/phpbb2/index.php
6) Finally, refer to the Palmone website and the FAQ's and the Treo 600 manual.

With those 6 resources, primarily item 6, 1 and 2, all your questions will probably be answered. Please CLICK SEARCH

well then you help them by telling them you must donate before they get any info. thats what was said to me before i could download anything from those sites......

which site are you referring to? if it is free software you need to download, www.handango.com is the place to go. or palmgear.com. i have yet to donate anything to download.

No threads about unlocking please. You can ask about software but not about unlocking the Treo.

all i was doing is letting it be known that i knew about the treo units and to have them email me for info. if i wanted to sell something i'd put it on ebay. no spam, so please be easy with me.i know im new to the forum, but im definately not new.

im pretty sure i know what im doing when it comes to phones. im a tech for at&t & cingular as we speak. just thought i would help someone out thats all.everyone giving info is great it helps people who do not know and if we all play nice we have no problems..

that question is half provider related and half phone related

. ask in the approrpriate forum in hofo and you might find someone willing to help you. for instance, in the Rogers forum, someone posted a thread as to how to do it for a specific phone.
