What are you all using as a sound to notify you when you have a new text message?

The standard ones that come on the GX20 are rubbish. Can you post your favourite sounds on this thread.

You don't have to stick with the original sounds that came with the phone. I agree, that the preset sounds are rubbish.

I use a file converter that converts WAVE files on my PC to SMAF format, which can be transfered to the phone by the data cable [of course as long as it is under 50KB, which should be okay unless you want a full song being played when you receive a text!]. So you can literally grab any sound you find on the internet, convert them to SMAF format, and transfer them onto your mobile!

The Yamaha program seems fussy as to content it will convert,could you give us more info on how to use the program,ie: are there filesize limits?

You need to convert the WAV file to 16 bit mono/8mhz then convert to SMAF. You will need some sort of sound editing program to do this. I'm currently using Goldwave.
