Treo 600 BC Personal - line wrap issues

When I send email from the Treo it always sends a long line of text instead of properly formatting it..it does not attempt to break the lines in any fashion. This is especially annoying when a user reads the email in say..Lotus Notes, because they have to continually scroll to read it all. Does anybody know how to fix this.
