Light Up Key Pad for 3300

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

my buddy(boxmetogo) and i are wondering if anyone could think of a way to take some thin light up keypads for a different phone and cut them to make them fit, work and look good in the 3300. the 3300's big problem is the fact of no light up buttons. so if anyone could help us think of anything, it woud be great. Thank you in advance.

Ooh! If you could, I'd buy one!

I have no ideas though... It sounds like something that would require your phone to be sent away to be modded...

Or maybe we could just wait for Nokia to come out with a successor with better features (maybe fold-out keyboard, standard headphone jack, BT, more formats supported, etc.)

Good luck finding a solution!

well there is something better, and im gettin it. the 9290. it has everything the 3300 has and more. i hope boxmetogo doesnt get mad at me.

Yeah, I know...the 9500 is better anyway...

But I meant a newer version of the 3300, that looked pretty much like it and so forth, but had improved features.

And I just might to...Ebay, here I come!

i just got the 9290 yesterday and i hate it. it doesnt do half of the things i thought it would do, adn its series 80 platform and the sis programs will not work. the phone had horrible reception but it did look cool. i got my 3300 and thats good enough for now.

Great stuff!

So now we're all back at Square 1. That is, until the 9500 comes out, cerver...

:P

yes back to square 1.....i will still try to get the lightup keypad thing to work. when and if i do, ill post a full report on how to do it.

LOL

lightup keypad? what do you mean by that?

Posted by: cerver7

its a very thin circuit board that gets placed under the buttons and when the phone rings, talked in to or just outa nowhere, it lights up. they flash or blink or just light up. this will be great for nokia 3300. all older nokias have them. do a google search and check them out.

My bad! Clicked the wrong quote button. :P

Anyway, how's it goin?

not to good. i cant make the flashing keypads for other phones work. i cut some and sodered some but they are so mangled up that they are not going to work. but i might have another idea. taking the 3300 euro and mixing the internals with the 3300 us version. but it may be harder than it looks.
