GD88 Message indicator?

Hi,
I got an SMS message on my GD88 so I went ahead and read it. After I went back to the main screen, I saw this 'new message' indicator. But instead of the usual 'white envelope' indicator at the bottom of the screen I have a 'black envelope'. What is this? 
Its there on the outer display too. I don't have the manual so I cant look for it in there.

Never mind I found out what it's for. My phone's message inbox is full! Guess I have to start cleaning out my SMSs now
