Hi, I just got a usb data cable from ebay, cost 17.00 and the only thing it does is suck the life out of my battery. My computer does not recognize the device. I have tried using other usb connection and no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions.

It came with a cd with the drivers on it. I installed them but it still will not recognize my device. Thanks for the reply though.

Some of teh drivers will not work on Windows 95. What are you running. Also a lot of the USB cables are actually using COM4 not USB so is that free?

I have the exact same problem, with the same phone, and I suspect the same cable from Ebay in fact.

I came across this tread after doing a search on Google, after spending many an hour covering several days attempting to solve the problem without any luck whatsoever.

So, to those reading I say 'hello' and that im glad to be part of the forum. If anyone has a follow-up on this case, i'd be most interested in reading it.

i couldnt get mine to work either, then i tried this suggestion from the great Zaediex in anohter thread and i got it to work....

it worked for me, and now i am banner free and shutter sound free. i think you have to change the setting back to USB diag after every reboot of the phone though.

Also make sure all your ports at the same.

That's my problem, havent' even gotten to anything else yet...my XP Pro laptop says that my USB device is malfunctioning, help please!!!

I bought the same cable worked with it for hours, with as many drivers I could come across (including the drivers included on the CD) and same thing happened to mine I plug it in the battery claims its going dead so I took the battery out plugged it in with the a/c adapter and same thing.....its using the power from the usb port and doesn't seem to like it.

I tried to install it on a win2k pro, and winxp home laptop and both did the same thing "usb device not reconized". The drivers didn't like the cable at all. I just decided to return mine and fork up the extra cash for the DIC-8300.

Yes that is the same one I purchased from the same company. I am in the process of trying to get an exchange for batteries or something.

Same cable here too.

I believe the problem is false advertising or false information. I am convinced the cable works only for CMM-8900.

OK I got my cable this weekend, and here's how I got connected.

I got a USB only cable specced for the LG VX6000.

When I plugged the cable into my PC, Windows said it was looking for a Curitel device.

So I surfed out to the Curitel website and downloaded the driver and PC sync program that they had for their Camera Phone.

Driver and PC Sync for the TX-95C

I loaded the drivers, then plugged the phone back in, and after a few tries, got the drivers, and the phone to recognize each other.

Windows said the camera was on COM5.

When I ran the PC sync program it said COM4.

PC sync worked and I could download my contacts.

I loaded BitPim, and used COM4, and I no longer have the Verizon banner, and have new ringtones.
