Lg 4600 Cable Issues

This is my first post, and i'm hoping someoen will be able to help me! 
Sorry for another cable post, but I am really stuck here. I have an LG Vx4600 and i bought a cable for it. The cable has a USB port on it and a big black box in the middle of it. It's from FutureDial, and it came with a CD and software. When I install the software, it dosn't list my phone! It says i need to go download an upgrade or something but I don't have a serial number on the disc, i think it was burnt.
So i tried using Bitpim instead. I can't install the 0.7 version. It installs up to 800kbs then says it finished, then when i try to install it, it tells me that the file is corrupted. So i have 0.6 (that worked) and it says it can't find my phone. I tried to download a thing for LG drivers but when I hit the setup file, nothing happens with that either! Nothing I try to do is working.
What should I do? Is there another place to download bitpim? Thanks in advance for your help.
