The slider needs to put a swap file in RAM. You need at least 238kb of memory available on the phone for it be able to start up. When I had 180kb free, my phone crashed. Anyway, the way I figured this out is simple. When I connect to my phone in BitPim, it says I have 1497kb free. In the Manage Apps menu it says I have 1.23mb free. 1.23mb = 1259kb. When you view the free space on the phone, it takes into account the size of that swap file. BitPim does not. So when you view the phone in BitPim, I'd say always make sure there's 250kb free. I'm not sure what's in that swap file, but you need space for your contacts, and for the WAP cache, and incoming text messages, etc.
Anybody have any thoughts on the subject?
