Your best battery saving tips/setup?

I think that the best tips for conserving battery and getting maximum life are the following settings:
1. no wallpaper
2. button sounds turned off
3. ringer volume not on max (same with speaker)
4. slide open and slide closed set to off sound
5. no screen saver
6. use default color theme?
7. backlight powersave mode on
8. backlight set up 5 seconds
9. do not associate pictures with callers
any additions? I realize these are not the funnest settings... I would think some of these help as they cut down on the processors power to redraw the screen (and colors) and keep a wallpaper or background running - which saves battery power.
