Hey first post in this sweet forum.. but I have a quick question.

I have searched around for a few hours now looking for some Sound Effect midi files for my phone for the use of a RingTone or Message alert.

I looked at www.matrixm.com and found LOTS of sound effect's but they cost $$ which I don't have. Matrix M sound effect gallery
I also tried the process of recording the sounds as a voice memo and using it a ring tone.. but the quality sucks and is hard to recognize.

So my question is do any of you know where I can download Midi sound effects like..
Car engine revving...
Jet plane fly by...
Godzilla's Roar...

stuff like that?!

Thanks alot! This is a great website!

MIDI is restricted to a pre-defined set of instruments and includes a few sound effects. I don't think MIDI will be able to give you what you want, how about mp3 versions?

Try searching with: http://www.musicrobot.com/ it is one of the best places to find MIDI's on the net.

hmm.. I guess I could always convert a mp3 to a midi...

guess I better get a data cable...

and that search engine is a great great site.. but I have only been successful in finding only bands/artists and title's of the songs..

The VX6000 will play mp3 files, no reason to convert to MIDI. And yes, the cable is a must have, so much nicer then GIN or e-mailing the files. Just remember that the latest version of Bitpim (.7) doesn't allow dragging and dropping *.mp3 files, at least to my 4500.

To find sound effects mp3 files do a Google search on "mp3 sound effects", you should get several good sites. If you have wav to mp3 software you can use places like www.wavcentral.com but remember to convert to mp3 before uploading.

www.myphonefiles.com

Buy voicetones studio 4, and use it to convert wav files to your phone. Do a search for wav files on the net. You have to keep them below 30 kb.

Also visit www.cellboy42.tripod.com for wallpapers.

J-Wagg OUT......

30 bucks for voice tones?

id rather spend that on the data cable.

read the thread...

my ringers sound 10x better than the ones djmodtones has and the best part is i can put more on there for free!!

do the homework is well worth it..

and a much better feelin when your done with a job well done..

Then a year later, when you switch phones you have to buy another cable.

let see my cable for the 6000 works for the 4500 as well

and the 7000 cable works for the 3200 and the 8000..

the 4400 cable works for 3100 and 510 and vx10 so the cable is a good investment.

and phonefiles ftp isnt that great. cept for pictures.
