I read a thread a short while ago about vx6000 owners that successfully uploaded shortened mp3 songs (up to 128 quality) onto their phones as ringtones. Does uploading mp3s to the vx4600 to make them ringtones also work? Thanks a bunch in advance.

yep - works just the same with the 4600, but in bitpim you'll want to set it up so that bitpim recognizes your phone as an lgvx4500, not 4600.

I don't know why this is, but the newest version of bitpim will only work after doing that.

Thanks a lot dmradus. Just ordered a $10 usb cable from ebay, hope to start loading up mp3s soon.

i wouldnt recommend doing all that hex editing stuff... all you really need to do is add the file to bitpim, and send the data to your phone... as long as the mp3s are renamed as having the file extension ".mid"
