Cannot transfer files to my S56

I installed Data Suite and the software called "Moblie" to my PC, but only the Data Suite can recognize the phone.

I think it has to do with the software and/or the drivers. The data suite will recognize the phone but not let me upload/download anything to/from it.

The "Mobile" software wont even open. It doesent acknowledge the phone at all.

What im wondering is if there is another program and/or drivers I can use for my phone. Maybe if I can get a different program to run on my PC that will access my phone it would work, because what I have now just does not want to comply.

Any suggestions?

Hi, I have the same problem with my S56 and SL56. I just can load nothing to them and I have the same software you are using. If you solve this problem please let me know and will do the same.
By the way my PC runs with Windows 2000 Prof.

There are threads on this already. Search the forum - it's been discussed . Or maybe it wasn't here... anyway you can search at www.club-siemens.net/forum too.

Are you using Bluetooth to do the transfers? I've noticed a big differences in BT cards in PC's. The Socket Communications BT card I had before was very poor at anything, where my new notebook, a Dell X300 has BT built in and it works beautifully. I transfer backgrounds and logos with ease.

Here's one possible solution for you.

I got an IrDA adapter for my computer today, and have sent quite a few ringtones and graphics, as well as a few games with it to my phone.

So, you could get a BT and IrDA adapter for you computer to send files. It doesn't work over the cable.

mkay.....luckily the guy i bought the cable from told me that he will let me take it back to him if its not what i wanted.

Thanks for that usefull information. All i bought it for was so I can put graphics and ringtones on it. Looks like im gonna have to get the BT.

How much do those run? I need the adapter for my comp too.

The phone is already Bluetooth-capable; you just need to turn it on (Menu-Connectivity-Bluetooth-Activate). USB Bluetooth adapters for PCs run around $30-40 at discounters like Buy.com; maybe $10 more at CompUSA.

Sorry, that should be "Menu-Setup-Connectivity-Bluetooth-Activate).

Hi Paul34, what kind of firmware I'm suppose to have in my S56?
I has checking and I found this:
SW-VERSION: 06
SW- DATE: 2003-08-05

It's kind of hold. Can that be the problem??
