Help on configuring POP3 Account on Siemens SL56

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I recently unlocked my siemens sl56 cellphone. now I am able to use it with Tmobile. I cannot use my same pop3 account that I used with at&t wireless.

Now I must configure a new POP3 account in the mail settings.

I was wondering if anyone can help me in filling out the fields so that I may send attachements such as pictures to the internet. Here are the fields. I have a hotmail account that I can configure.
I know it all seems self explanitory but i've put in all of my hotmail information in the fields and it still wont' connect to send my email. Is there any other configuration that I have to do besides in the mail settings? thank you for reading this. Your help is much appreciated.

Smtp port: find the port of your wap provider or email, not sure which one (sorry)
SMTP Authentic: leave alone
SMTP password: leave alone

I hope these are useful. I have trouble sending email from my phone but that's because blueyonder doesn't like 02. I can receive emails without a problem.

With hotmail being a free "web-based" (as in, not outlook-based) email and, not one provided by an ISP you might have trouble with it. I think it may have always been the case because the phone has to dial up to the account. With hotmail you have to connect to the internet and then login via an interface. The point of pop3 is that it goes direct to the account.

Let me know how you get on.

I see. htank you so much. I am going to call tmobile and see if they have a wap/pop3 account for me already so that I can configure it based on the info you provided

I have problems with pop3 configuration and find that is not the phone settings but the network. Be sure to activate data service (not the same as wap). In my case gprs and wap work ok but data is a different thing to activate than wap.

Yeah, good point. Here in the UK, you can get away with only having your wap on. It's a bit slower but I still get my emails.
