This could move to the VoiceStream section if the rumors are confirmed, but for now...
This could be VoiceStream's new "Blackberry style" device with voice capabilities. The video of the device at ZDTV's site looks awesome. Hopefully Q1 2002 ? We can only hopw and wait.
BTW
The swivel screen rates a cool factor of 10+

Kudos to "PDA Man" for breaking the story in the VoiceStream newsgroup.

You know... after reading the press releases and doing a bit more research I have yet to actually find a picture of this device.
Although, as interesting as it sounds it will have a severe time of breaking into the market without a huge marketing campaign in order to get part of RIM and Motorola's market.
I did notice that they stated quite firmly that they want to target the consumer market as opposed to the corporate market. This could seriously be their folly. With the condition of the IT and tech stocks, they're putting all their eggs into one basket.
RIM & Motorola are taking a beating stockwise and review-wise. I hardly think a new player with a similiar product aiming at the consumers is going to do well at all. The corporate market will save RIM over time as Blackberry has proven itself as an Enterprise solution. The consumer market is fickle and hardly a reliable source of income. Motorola has had its consumer multi-coloured units out for quite a while now, they haven't really taken off either.
Just a few thoughts.
