8450: more like 8600 or 8900?

Hi, I am newcomer here with 8450, considering buying a datacable to download ringtones/games to phone.
I browsed the Audiovox forum there are threads on 8600 and 8900 by cable.
I am a bit confused brcause of following messages:
1, 8900 uses same cable as 8450, (same as LG6000)
2, Somebody said 8600 is almost same as 8450 in hardware just flip type.

So I don't know if 8600 or 8900 steps is OK on 8450, or neither?
If anyboday can give a tutorial on downloading to 8450 through cable, it's very appreciated.
