after a bunch of trial and error this is what i have come up with there is no way to directly put animations on your phone we have to seed an animation just like verizon and replace it with our own animation due to the fact animations are recorded in the nvm_hei file which is brew locked and inaccessable to change so first you will need this file: http://home.woh.rr.com/anarchyinc/animation_files.zip

Originally posted by glockjs sorry snoop dizzle i gotta back centran on this one. although the spinning hub caps you can pick up at your local wal mart are tight as hell and dont get me started on spintechs, especially when you put 18" spinners on a 20" rim i will say though some rims that are bolt on but not really can look good. cause they are designed perfectly for that rim. my favorite are the floaters though. not to get too far off topic in a cell phone forum about cricket |

) Yea we got a msg at work that brew is now avail in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Dayton, Toledo, Syracuse. Unfortunatly still not in my area. Download the brew devolpment software from Quallcom (audiovox) so I'm gonna start playing around with it! I'm thinking that you can have a file that is more then 3 frames if it's compressed and stored under *.bci (Brew compressed image file) the phone wants to display it but got a few things to figure out on it! Other then the fact that the only programming I learn is to hack things with (when I move to Az I'm starting my computer science class). As for backing up the files that shouldn't be to hard!!! Actually all the files that you can access on the phone are able to removed with no harm!!! I actually had to erase all files in the phone. Once I power cycled it the firmware actually replaced all files that were deleted!!
If anyone reads this and tries it don't blame me if it screws up your phone!!! As it worked for me and that's all I'm saying!!!! What I make out right now is that everything that is on the phone has to be pointed out thru the /db file. As soon as I can get my hands on a *.mif file (games and what not are store under this extension) Then I'll be able to learn more but if you do get an app put on please please please post anything you learn thru the dumping of info. sucks that only a little over 2megs is avail on the phone! I did convert on gif to the *.bci format which was a 7 frame animation I couldn't belive the amount of compression!!!!!! The actuall *.gif file size in comparison looked like one of the mp3 files and the *.bci file was no bigger then a standard *.ico (icon file). With cricket coming out of bankruptcy I don't think it's gonna be much longer before they support WAP. They're gonna have to in order to stay competitive!!!!! Ok so I wrote enuf for now!!! but for now I'm gonna try my best to work on longer animations and the games but without seeing what is actually done in the phone it's self it's gonna be hard
Ok I feel like an idiot got the animation up and running

Originally posted by cricketsubcontr using bitpim just goto /brew/images/shared and right click mouse to add file. Just the same as with any other image only problem is can't figure how to get the phone to read it correctly yet! Does anyone have a complete copy of files on the 8900?? Screwed something up on my phone and need to replace the file but not sure which I file I screwed with
|
|
Originally posted by cricketsubcontr Yes I did but the problem lay's in the fact that I made changes to a file and would rather replace all the files with original's that way I can also learn from what was put on the phone from begining, Carrier specific's, and then try and reverse engeneer what was done. My stupidity was that I didn't do what I normally due which would be to back up everything before playing with it. |
