Im extremely experienced in computers but am a total noob when it comes to all this cell phone stuff. In a few hours im going to purchase a 8900 and had a question about which cable i need.

I want to be able to use bitpim and be able to connect it to my laptop so my laptop can have mobile internet. To do this, do i have to buy the mobile office kit verizon offers or will the cable that radio shack sells allow me to connect my laptop to the internet? thanks in advance

You can use the one at radio shack but i reccomend the lg vx6000 cable which is what i use since i have both of those phones it's very reliable and works great.

I am looking to get a data cable also. How are the ones of ebay compared to the ones from Rat Shack?

im using the $10 ebay cable. no probs so far. throw away that driver disc it comes with and get the TX 95c driver

So if I buy the cable from Radioshack.........will I be able to use the phone as a modem for my laptop? or do i need the MobileOfficeKit from Verizon???? thanks

a cable is a cable. it's the software you need.
