Howdy everybody. I have a BD6070 in Brazil (VIVO is the carrier) and I am wondering if someone knows whether there is any difference with the LG 6070 I see every now and then around this forum.

I tried to upload some wallpapers and MIDI files according to the thorough description at CustomCell, but nothing happens. I guess there are some folders that differ from the screenshot I see in there.

Any valuable info is very well appreciated.

I was hacking it a little bit and I found out that the two files below (under dloadindex folder) are modified if a file is downloaded from the carrier:

brewImageIndex.map
brewRingerIndex.map

Under the folder USR there are two folders:

Sound
Image

These are the folders where the files are downloaded to.

If I edit the index files above and add new files to the usr folder, I don't get to have them listed under my downloads section on the phone. BUT if I edit the index file (which contains the name of the files that were downloaded from the carrier) in order to point to one of the files I manually added, it works, meaning, the ringtone that plays is the one I added with BITPIM (but the name under the downloads section on the phone remais the same as the one I downloaded from the carrier).

So, the mistry is to figure out where to edit the Downloads Menu items so that I can manually add thye files and manage the list to be displayed.

Would there be an experienced person that can figure it out? I can send hexdumps of these files at any time.

I bought it at Mercado Livre (www.mercadolivre.com.br).
They call it LG Life Data cable.

Olá Totens!

Vou escrever em português mesmo, pq esse maldito modelo parece existir somente no Brasil.
Eu comprei o cabo USB, mas o software que veio junto não suporta o LG Life, somente modelos mais antigos. No site da LG também não tem nenhum software para baixar.

Tentei usar o BitPim, mas ele só mostra o filesystem do aparelho. Aí então tentei seguir suas dicas. Aí minhas dúvidas:

1 - Você poderia me enviar seu hexdump?
2 - No meu aparelho não apereceu um folder Image dentro de USR. Apareceu sim um shared/image dentro do folder brew.
3 - No sound tem um mid que eu baixei do LigAki, mas eu usei a opção do programa de usar somente uma vez o midi. Ele está lá (vejo pelo bitpim), mas como eu configuro pra acessar esse midi, já que o programa do LigAki expirou? Sempre preciso configurar midis baixados pelo respectivo programa? Não tem como listar eles nas campainhas do sistema?

Esse aparelho é uma porcaria nesse sentido. Me arrependo de ter comprado.

I will send you an HEX dump as soon as I get home and find what is goinmg on. As far as I can see, your cable is fine, as it allows you to access the file system.

I'm making a program to edit this easily. Like drag'n drop ringtones, wallpapers to phone, etc.

Did you add only 8-bit bmp wallpaper image or 24-bit bmp too?
My program works fine (using bitpim to transfer at this moment) to work with ringtones and wallpapers.
I need test more tree dumps, diaries, etc.

Unfortunately, as I told in the previous message, I didn't buy my data cable yet!

Do you use a USB cable? Does it work well?
I've heard that a Serial cable works better....

USB cable works fine. Anyway, the most drivers maps the USB to COM4 port.

At mercadolivre too. Price: R$120,00 ($40,00).
I think is not LG original, but it comes with a color label CD, with software and the driver.
Cable works fine, and cool thing is the fact that while your phone is plugged, it recharge the battery.
The income softwares dont work on BD6070, only the drivers. I've downloaded Bitpim, and the only option that works is FileSystem View. You can use a hexedit like Totens describes, but it's hard and boring.

You can upload ringtones and images, editing index files with a hexeditor.
Syncronize contacts is not possible yet. How I said, I'm working in a program to do this easily. Images and ringtones editing works fine. Next step is sync contacts and diary. But, my cell broken last week... and I need bitpim dumps to continue development.

Isn't it possible to sync contacts either with the software that comes with the cable?
It's one of my dreams, cause I don't want to type all my contacts in the phone's keyboard!!!!

I heard the LG official software (I didnt find it) only give you the sync option. I dont know if this option is sync diary or phone contacts.

The_Lok: the brazilian LG site has again sync programs. You can sync diary, memo and contacts.
My program works fine with ringtones and wallpapers.
But, I'm waiting my phone from assistence to test programs.

But when I use lgsync with my contacts I have noproblem, the cable is on COM5.

Which configuration are you using?
Which model? There it does not have BD 6070.

On COM PORT I use auto and the model is lg bd 6070. Now I click on "filesystem"/user and click offline phone and it worked. and when i disconnect the cable bitpim gives me a message that the phone is disconnect, so it is working but i have no idea why i get this message when i open bitpim.

Hi,

Now I can send Ringtones and Wallpapers to my BD 6070, I using BitPim 0.62. The Ringtones plays without problem but the wallpaper modify the "brewImageIndex.map" and include the paste "/brew/shared/" and put the file there. But the image don't go to images lists.

Somebody know what is happen?

I saw somebody saying about "Usr/Image", so I put the file there and Nothing. Have I create other subpaste?

Which is the dimension of the image(BD 6070 - Lg Life)?
