Originally posted by buhdussy Yea that silverado has been gone for almost a year. People who usually buy cars from my dad are experienced in fixing harder hit cars, they can get parts cheap and fix it themselves. Now as for the Titan, I would DEFINATLEY check out the Motor, Trans, and axels for water. Flood cars can be really bad if the water gets into the motor or trans. If that is the case, than I would advise you not to buy it. The truck may run fine for about 500 miles and then BAM, Throw a rod. Your best bet would be to get a theft recovery, easier to fix, no lingering smell and seats and steering columns are easy to change. Just keep checking the site for new arrivals, My dad tends to buy more cars in the summer. You could also email him, his name is John, for any questions on new arrivals. Also if you do find a car elsewhere and need to locate parts, just PM me and I can assist you. Edit: I just noticed it was a 4x2, so just one axel. Although usually they are pretty well sealed, so it may not have water in it. |

Originally posted by buhdussy If the flood water reaches the carpeting, then the engine and trans can get affected. The main thing with the motor is that if the car was running, then water could have possibly been sucked into the intake. For the most part, if the water is only at carpet level than water would have a hard time finding it's way in through the bottom of the motor. However, the Trans has a seal at the tail shaft and water could get through there. It sounds like this car is a lightning stirke, but If I were you, I would seriously consider not purchasing the car unless they get it running. With all of the Cars my dad sells, he ALWAYS gets the cars running, unless the motor is bad, also lot drivable if possible. Now on to the salvage/rebuilt title thing. A rebuilt and a salvage title are nearly one in the same. Ok lets say you buy the truck: It has a salvage title, after you get it all repaired, it MUST be inspected by a certified salvage inspector(usually cops do inspecting on the side for the extra cash). After the SALVAGE title truck passes the Inspection, It will recieve a REBUILT title, and now can be registered and insured. So Rebuilt title cars are essentially Salvage title cars that have been inspected. Hope that straightens out the confusion. |
