Finally got a few pictures of my red leds in the phone. My camera won't fosus under low light conditions. I am also offering to change lights in you phone. I can change Motorola models V300, V400, V500, V525, and V600.http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php

Hey I was just at howardforums when I noticed you front lcd mod. very nice work. I also love modding and building circuits. currently I am working on a mod that will allow the front lcd lights to turn red when you get a call but (don't have pictures). I have run into a problem I can't find led's that will fit

. can you help me with this. what I need is the intensity, viewing angle, wave length and size, maybe a link to where you be bought the led's,

Also you say on you post that you have limited colors, well if you go to mouser.com they sell an insane amount of LED's. you might be able to find other colors there that might help you out profitwise by bringing in more customers.

As a side note do you know if there is a .pdf file with the specs and part .no's of motorola v300

Hey how do you change that LED on the Outter Light? is it just a matter of changing LEDs if you can find them? Is it easy? and what colors can you change them too

Yo thats pretty sick. (first pic not working)

but yea, I like the OEM blue cover and LED but thats just me, cuz I like blue.

But if you can make it a different LED color for a certain event, that would be crazy

Your mod sounds cool.. shouldnt be too hard.. just need to find a spot that you could wire a switch to for the leds to turn on when the phone rings. The hard thing would be running wire if you have to.

I got the leds off ebay. It wasnt easy finding some that small. I dont know the exact dimensions but if they are too wide they will crack the lcd because it has this little lip that over hangs. You have to have it apart to know what I'm talking about(not related to your mod, only if replacing).

Any forward voltage around (will check again tomorrow) will work for replacement leds. The original blue leds require a mid amount of volts comparded to other colors. There is no way I would be able to add a resistor on there to drop some volts. The red ones generally use less volts compared to blue.. mine havent died or weakened and ive had them for about 2 months. They should be fine with the volts.

Its not simple at all.. the leds are about the size of a pencil point and have to be soldered to a ribbon cable the width of a piece of hair..well pretty close.. too much heat could melt or damage the ribbon cable.

yo that red LED one looks SWEET...i wish i knew how to do it...or i wish i was ballzy enough to try...LOL there no way of you posting a how to for that huh? that would be pretty cool...well thanks for the pics of that ,thats cool as well you know....lol you cant really tell on the white one to much im not sure if i like it or not...
