Poor Reception SE T610

New to this board and to SE products. Have had the T610 for about a week now (provided by my employer). The reception is terrible on this phone. In reading the different posts, I see references to firmware upgrades. Where or how is this done and would it solve my reception problem? Could I just have received "bad" phone?

Not sure who your provider is with.....but reception on a T610 isn't the greatest. It is a tri band phone that doesn't have the new 850Mhz band that the T637 and T616 have. As a result...depending on where you live and where you use your phone calls maybe dropped or reception poor.

I own a T610. I use it without problems in Toronto and on the highway in my car. I do have problems in underground garages and while in Pickering in some places. Tri band phones automatically switch to a particular band depending on what the provider offers so that reception isn't poor.

Rogers in Toronto now offers the 850 band. I have yet to try it out (since I also have a T610) but the posts on the board say the 850 band makes the difference.....

Hope that helps. Getting better firmware for the phone might make a bit of difference.....

I have also heard of people with the T610 who are with Fido (another provider in Toronto)....do not have any problems.
