416-503-2984 I searched this number and apparently someone else had a complaint on this board. From that thread http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=130475 the number is a number not in service when Called Back. From Bell I found out it is a Bussiness Number. 503 is an Etobicoke exchange from 411.ca.
from the website Bell http://www.the-cma.org/ gave me to remove your number from Marketers lists for three years I looked in their member directory and found a marketing firm with a close # but not exact . Checking at 411.ca in reverse lookup thier phone number is also unlisted, checked out their web page www.axis-dbm.com and found that they don't do telemarketing per say.
They provide solutions for the telemarketing industry.
Now I am unsure if they are the culprit but from what I read in the previous posts and what I know about this company from reading thier page tracing thier buisness number and thier mission and geographical area I would give it a 90% chance they are the culprit to everyone who has answered the phone and gotten dead air with this number showing or *69 on you land line. Only other possibility I see is Bell trying to get people to subscribe to call display. What do you Think.

Probably from a companys PBX system that doesn't allow incoming calls from certain outgoing phones in the system. You see this a lot from call centers.

possibility could also exist that its a phantom number assigned to roaming clients...

for example.

A Verizon client lands at Lester B. Pearson in Toronto, turns on their phone and begins roaming on Telus Mobility. In order for that client to roam in Canada its issued a phantom number to allow for service. Phantom numbers are a specific line range that are used speficially for this reason. Most times its transparent, few times the phantom number displays on outbound calls as well as on the clients bill...

try explaining THAT to clients *ha*

I would say that these two of the most likely scenarios..

And yes, explaining phantom numbers to clients is very difficult.

Fine It could be anyone of these possibilities. But who in thier right mind is going to call five times in an hour and not wait for someone to talk the line is usually dead. only once in those five times did I actually hear someone hang up. That was the time I caught the number. Its not phoning my cell but my land line. Its not the first time. ... Conspiracy theory Its Bell trying to get you to order thier call display.
Probably not, nor would I.

OLO we had that happen to us, It said Unknown caller, Then the next day they stopped, but they dial once, as soon as we hanged up there was another call from them. they phoned in total about 25times in 1 day from 12-9.
