Is it possible to put MP3s on a nokia 6820? I am getting one and would like to do that. I currently have an LG VX6000. Although it is not advertised as such, you can put MP3s on that phone. Hoping it's the same for Nokia 6820. Also, any other mods for that phone would be awesome....like removing AT&T wireless banner and other cool stuff. Thanks Guys.

are you getting wap enabled on the new phone? are you getting a dku cable for it? let me know these things so i can help you further.

by the way. the 6820 is not an mp3 player and can not reconize them in the phone. but if this phone is a series 60 phone, then i have an mp3 player program that you coul put on to it to play mp3s, but then you would have to get dku-cable to upload the mp3s. kinda confusing but very simple

wap is the internet on the phone. with that its easy to change op logo and get free wallpapers/games/apps/ringers all kinds of cool stuff. its def. worth the 5-10 dollars per month for unlimited use. i got it. 7.00 for everything. mad good. i could send you a list of free wap sites that you can d/l free stuff with your phone.

if the phone does not reconize mp3's then i would say no. its like putting vodka in the gas tank of a car. it wont run cause it doesn't know what that ish is. ya know? it might work, but it might not. the nokia converter might be able to do midi to poly, but not mp3 to midi or poly. they are totally different. mp3s have voices and a lot of chords. midis are a lot less chords and no voices. polys are some chords but no voices.

A friend of mine has the MX200 and the RF is Horrible...considering its a 1900mhz band phone. Dont get me wrong, he gets signal most of the time, but the phone is choppy, lots of drop calls.

When I was at ATT store, like 3 people were returning their MX200 for this reason. Its a great device, just not a great phone.

What phones are good phones and good for mp3?

I really liked the 3300, you can use the MP3 as your ringer, you have a qwerty style keyboard. Comes with the cable, decent set of earbuds. Also the RF isnt bad at all. All around its a great little phone. I just couldnt get passed the no light up keyboard.

That phone is ugly as sin. I decided to go with the motorola v600. Camera, MP3, bluetooth and so much more. Thanks guys.

very very true! i love my 3300. it does mp3 as ringers, like high life said. it plays aac format too. much smaller than mp3. fullkeyboard that doesnt light up like highlife said, which is the worst factor. it does email, actuall email, not the wap mail stuff. the mmc card is expandable to 128 without the f/w flash. i got the f/w flashed to oem nokia 3300 non-provider lock and it can hold 256. the shape is very cool, and a lot smaller than i thought. the screen size for wallpapers is 128x128 pixels. and i think the rf is very good for nokias first odd ball phone. the shape was new, and the OS was a new design. the phone was bought off ebay for 125.00 dollars with 128 mmc, belt clip, unlocked, all oem parts and accessories. very good deal and very good phone. get that phone, you will not regret it.

I know this is an old thread but just in case anyone was checking up on it. The 6820 & 6822 can use AMR files as ringtones. I have converted plenty and offer them on my mobile site. Click the section you want down toe WAV or MP3, typically no more than 30 seconds, and then you can use either the Nokia Media Player in PC Suite to convert it to AMR and set to NO LIMIT or any other convert of your choice that can conver to AMR.
