this is my first post, be gentle...
I'm trying to get some new ringtones on my slider.
I have the following:
1 verizon wireless SE-47 phone (not prepaid)
1 LG VX6000 cable from radio shack
1 copy of bitpim v. 0.7.12
1 PC with Windows XP
First i downloaded the USB drivers from futuredial. I selected LG VX6000 as my phone. I plugged in my slider and it was recognized by windows. (yay)
next I installed the bitpim software. I tried the older stable version and it did not recognize my phone. I unistalled and then reinstalled the beta version and we now have left off. (yay)
I followed the instructions from the HOW-TO thread to the letter. I can see the file structure and where my ringtone files are stored. When i copy a ringtone to that folder and then go to my phone. nothing. (boo)
I've people having success doing this so I have some questions of to how:
What type of phone are you using? was a VM that you converted or was a straight VW phone?
What driver did you use for the radioshack USB cable?
What version of bitpim are you using?
Thanks in advance,
-s

I managed to get my SE-47 data transfer working this morning after a great deal of trouble. I'm using the cable that came with DataPilot but a not using their transfer software. I'm using BitPim 0.7.12. So far after my experiences, my guess is that if you can see the file structure on your phone, the software and connection should be fine.
So I have to ask: Are you loading the sound files to User\Sound\dnld ? Do they show up in there in the file system view? What format are the sound files in? Did you check your phone afterwards to see if the sound menus were refreshed and your sounds appeared?
