I have a Kyocera SE47 V5 Slider Phone from VM which I bought in the states. I have since moved to Australia and need to flash the australian software to the phone in order for it to work on the Telstra network here. Do I have to get the same model phone that already has the Telstra software on it and transfer that over to my phone then change the ESN or is there another way to do it? I have a 100GB webserver with 1000GB of transfer per month so I could host all the files needed if someone could please post instructions and tell me where to find everything I need I can post all the programs to my server for everyone else with this problem.

Even if someone could e-mail me at webmaster@kevinoz.com and help me unlock the phone maybe that would be enough to get it working here? I am fairly sure the software will work here if I can unlock it!

Did you ever activate the phone? Is Telstra CDMA? If it was never activated and it's CDMA you can follow the instructions given for setting up a VM slider for Verizon but use the Telstar SID's in place of the Verizon SID's. Find a working Telstra phone, go in to the set up for the phone and copy the settings, but not the ESN or phone number. You also have to let Telstra know the ESN of the phone you are trying to set-up, I know with Verizon you can do this via the net. I highly doubt you need to flash the phone with the Telstra flash. I would discourage you from trying to flash the phone, myself and others have ruined the phone by trying to flash it.
EDIT: If the phone was activated follow these instrutions to get the SPC code.
Do a hex dump using BitPim and browse to this file 'nvm_security', located at nvm/nvm. Look at the tenth row (row 09) , sixth bit over you see a 6 digit number. Try that number. Thats the SPC code to unlock the phone.... Hope this helps.

don't I have to go to Virgin and get them to release my ESN from the network so that Telstra can put it into their network? As far as unlocking it. I could probably figure it out but are you sure it would work if I just copied all those settings over without flashing the full software to the phone?

Could someone please e-mail me at webmaster@kevinoz.com and explain to me exactly what needs to be done to unlock my phone to work with Telstra. I have talked to techs here and they are clueless! They said they will help me anyway they can but have no idea how to do any of what I am trying to tell them (ie. change the CID and unlock the phone) so maybe one of you could give me a bit of a nudge in the right direction with this? I would be willing to pay if it works!
