After reading these forums several times i'm actually happy with my cellphone for once.

i needed a new phone on the 9th and the slider was due out the 14th with a little bit of a nudge the sales rep sold me the SE44 with the handsfree and the car-charger.

now from what read the difference between the 44 and the 47 is the 44 is trimode (and has T2T?) from what i've read most everyone has the VM slider and it's a bit locked. Nice enough mine doesn't appear to locked, however i don't have a games menu. from what i've read i should be able to enable this with the PST software (if it has it).

has anyone done much poke'n and proding on one of these phones that isn't a verizon or vm?

once i get my cable i plan on making a nice layout guide with the filesystem and etc. i'd love to come up with walkthrough/faq like ozien has. i'd love to have get as much info to put into this as possible (filestructures for different providers and quarks in where things go)

anyone that donates information will get credit for the information provided. the finial document would be avalible in several formats.

I just got an SE44 from Alltel last week.

The hands free kit is a joke. I am taking that back tomorrow and trading it for a data cable kit.

I think we will have an easier time of it compared to the SE47 from VM. I don't think Alltel has them locked down as much.

ya i tried to get the data cable kit, they laughed at me. they just don't carry that cable he in nebraska...or in gi at least.

i'm going to have to get my g/f to see that it's a good idea to order me a toy that will keep me tied up for few nights.

aquired the cable today. the one from rat shak that works (furture dial cable #19 for the LG 1200 and VX6000) drivers installed as Prolific Usb to Serial drivers.

Kyocera's PST was happy to unlock the fun and games menu that alltel had locked away and hidden my precious tetris.

i'll have a FS layout in a bit that can be compared to the verizon and the virgin FS

i do have a few of them "pay to download apps" that can have information pulled for play also

LOL! I just got a cable today too. The same one.

What was that about unlocking the games and stuff?

Do you know where I can get the software to use tis with? I have the Kyocera software but it does not seem ot work with this future dial cable.

sorry to reply to my own post but i figured it out.

Why would Alltel provide the phone with no games like that when all they have to do is unlock what is there?

Crazy. Now to figure out how to upload my own ringtones and pictures.

here is a thread that has where to put everything. later tonight i'm going to check to see if the ringers and want not go to the same places

some around here has the link for the keyocera PST software so you can enable the games. seems like thats the only thing they've knocked out at alltel. otherwise it's a pretty functional phone.

oh and teh furture dial "driver" is at
future dial and choose the vx6000

interesting little side note, not sure what has caused it but for some reason bitpim will not read the filesystem of the cell unless you've accessed the phone with gagin previously.

when trying bitpim at home i could not get it to work at all. thought it might be the usb2, same problem on usb1. just would not find the phone. seeing how it worked on my machine at work and nothing changed, except i ran gagin at work and not at home i tried that.

lo and behold it worked.

Sorry for asking a dumb question, but I'm new to the cell world and not up on all the acronyms. What is keyocera PST software? It it their Desktop Software or some other utility. I have the Desktop and a SE44, but haven't tried it yet. If will unlock some games I'll fire it up. If it's a different utility, where do I get it?
