Originally posted by Naveen that looks like it owuld be worth the wait then. I was talking the salesperson at the attws store and he mentioned something that I wanted to ask you guys about. He stated that many of these pda/phones do not have good reception becasue they are a pda first and then a phone. He then also stated the phones like the mpx200 are phones first and then they have some pda functions. I really like the hp and the treo becasue they have full pda functions but I do want good reception also. any thoughts or opinions? |

Originally posted by letsgoflyers81 That makes no sense. Obvously some PDA phones are designed to be a phone first, PDA second, and vice versa. That has nothing to do with reception. You can take something that's a PDA first but if the radio and components are made well and with the same quality as normal phones, they'll sound fine. The Treo 600 is one of the best phones in regards to signal in Sprint's lineup. And the Treo is just about in the middle, sitting between PDA and phone. |

Originally posted by Naveen thanks for the helpful insight. i really didnt know that palm had been working on the treo for a long time. i really like the treo becasue of the keyboard and the palm software. but, i would like to have bluetooth. i wish they were flip but, i will wait for the hp and the new treo then. |

Originally posted by karibOS yeah, as Handspring, they had 3 models (only two of which could actually be called treos) and a visorphone module before that. As palmONE they are really commited to getting this PDA/phone thing correct. I can see myself getting the new Treo mentioned in the other thread. I was holding out for BT b/c I use it so often. |
|
Originally posted by letsgoflyers81 Yeah, Handspring had the Treo 180 (GSM) and then came out with the Treo 300 (Sprint) and 270 (GSM). The Treo 600 is the third generation. There's also the Treo 90 which is very similar to the 270/300 but there's no phone. The Ace will be the fourth generation of PDA/phone and with each generation, the Treo has dramatically improved. I'm sure I'll be lined up to buy one once it comes out. |

Originally posted by karibOS oops, forgot about the treo 300. I consider the 90, the non-treo b/c it had no phone (so what was the mysterious 3rd function? )

Originally posted by letsgoflyers81 Going by that logic, should the 600 be called a Quatro? The camera adds a fourth function.

Originally posted by DaninChina Is this for real or not? The link has been removed from treocentral. (either it wasn't true, or it was true and palmone wasn't happy with such a picture floating around) I guess people have long suspected that something like this would be coming. Unrelated note: Treo 600's seem to be quite expensive in Hong Kong - 5990 HKD at a Fortress store in TST! |

Originally posted by letsgoflyers81 It's 100% legit. Long before that story I had all that information from one of my sources at Sprint. Treo Central removed the article because Sprint came down on them for publishing information that's not supposed to be public yet. I can assure you everything that WAS in that article on Treo Central is for real.

Originally posted by letsgoflyers81 If the Ace is anything like the 600, it might come out for Verizon 8 months after it came out for Sprint.

Originally posted by Naveen I finally had a chance to plat with the Treo this weekend. How does everyone like the keyboard? Too small, too big? Can you lock the phone while not in use? |
|
Originally posted by letsgoflyers81 The keyboard is amazingly easy to use for its size. It's small but I can type quite quickly and accurately on it. And yeah it has a keyguard so it can't get accidentally turned on. |
