| nope, just tried wap.google.com without the http:// and same error... after entering that homepage in the options, it tries to connect and comes up with the key not found error.... |

Originally posted by jhlankford _w0, maybe the reason you did get "on" and now you don't is because Cellular South is testing it's system periodically and at different locations for the roll out of web access July 15th. Just like when they expanded our local area CDMA coverage into Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. I was in Mobile and got a local signal only in about a square mile area once right before they turned the entire system on. Give it a couple of weeks and we'll all be able to play. JLmaybe |
| So now I am hearing two different methods. The first says only make changes under UP Link 1. The other says you have to make changes under UP Link 1, 2 AND 3. What is the truth? |

I am able to ping the site and do a traceroute from my computer.

Originally posted by ashuv Hi, I used to have verizon mobile web and not I got rid of it and when I am trying to do mobile web on my 8900 it is getting security error: key not recognized It could be that the security thing was set up in the settings. I tried to go there and remove it. It still does not work. The openwave browser does not save the homepage too. It still has the openwave.com as the homepage that could be a problem too. Could someone help? Thanks ashutosh |

Then "UP Link 1". Then "AP1-IP". Change the IP Input to "129.123.17.148" using the {SEND} key as "." Then "OK". 3. Next, go into the "AP1-Port" and change the Port Input to "9201". Then "OK". 4. Do the same for the "AP2-IP" and "AP2-Port". When you are finished, press {END} and reboot your phone. TA-DA!! FREE WAP!!

Originally posted by ashuv I am not sure if it works for all carriers, but try this....get a free wap ip from somewhere wap.crjt.net could be one place. Then change all the ip and ports on the browser to be this new ip and port. remmber not just one of the ip and port but all of them. Then go to a place where you have enough bars, strong connection and try it. If it does not work then your phone's firmware is somehow blocking it. But my guess would be that it should work. As long as there is a data service on any provider and the phones are similar it should work. It is very hard to add authentication stuff into the wap in favor of performance, so we all get free wap.
