BitPim Error when trying to save pics

Hi, I got my curitel driver working finally, and did the ERI banner hack, which works fine.

However, I am getting an error when trying to save the picture files! Looks like some CRC error????

Here is the bitpim error dialog:

An unexpected exception has occurred.

The others are crc, sometimes I get this error , weird.

ValueError: The value read should be a constant of 89, but was 20 instead

Read this. It worked for me.

hey DJ, thanks, but my error is not mentioned there.

I can actually download smaller files, but on pic files it goes halfway, or soemtimes barely at all, and then errors out. It's quite annoying!

I will mess around with the futuredial drivers on my "curitel" cable... maybe that will be more reliable?

I have the cable with the box in the middle.

You might want to check the port speed of your phone. Some times slowing it down will help out. Try to change it to 115200. You can find this setting in the device manager on your computer. Aslo, where are you going in bitpim to save your photos? You should be in the /camera/photo dir and then just right click on the .jpg file that you want and then "save". Make sure your not trying to save from the thumb dir.

No luck, I reinstalled the drivers many times, trying diff ones (its a curitel cable). Now it's not really connecting at all!

maybe its a bad cable, or a bad phone?

The last time, getting those crc errors, makes me think its NOT a simple misuse error, like read the instructions etc.
Also, the port speed. I tried 112k, 230k, 38k, same crap.

Get the radio shack cable and use the future dial drivers. Haven't has this setup fail yet. Or try the future dial drivers with your cable.

Posted by: robnitro

Not sure how the futuredial drivers work with other cables. Windows detects this as curitel, even before I found the curitel drivers to install!

Maybe Ill buy the radioshack cable, and if it doesnt work i can always return it.

I tried the same cable and sw on a friend's pc, and it worked fine! Ringtones and pics! yay!

I think my current mobo's usb connections are buggy as hell, since its a VIA mobo.

BTW, why are the ringtones having a small x next to em?

Posted by: robnitro

I got it working, but it is sometimes buggy. It's also the whole usb setup in the bios, very picky indeed. So FYI to anyone getting crc errors!

Also, why the x in the pic when using cids program to upload ringtones?
