Have you tried the "##PORT {END}" code yet?? Make sure the data setting is on USB!! I hope it works!

where is the diag setting?

Posted by: jdubvdub

when i do ##PORT {end} there are two choices: 01diag and 02data
inside the diag menu, the choices are:
NULL PORT
UART MAIN
USB DATA
USB DIAG
by default, the setting is UART MAIN

I dont actually have any helpful hints for you but I would be curious if all the " Ebay cable" users have this much trouble. I've had the Radio Shack cable for both my phones and have never had an issue with getting them connected through BitPim. It comes down to either a hardware (your phone), software(cruitel drivers) or application (BitPim) issue.
Since a majority of us who does not have any issues with BitPim 7.11 I would rule that out.
Since a majority of us do not have to change any factory default settings in our phones to connect to BitPim.
I would err on the drivers being an issue.
Just my 2 pennies worth anyhow.

this my first phone to atempt this with i called 3 of the 7 Radio Shacks in this area none have a cable for the 8900. they all said that they will not support ot cant get it that i need to go to Cellular One and they dont have a cable or software ether what
will FutureDial SnapSync Software work with this phone

yea i def have the same problem w/ my ebay cable, keep getting error msgs, i think i might just go out and buy the radioshack cable, which one is it exactly?

Posted by: cuwmb2

Here is the Radio Shack cable that most people are talking about!

I bought my cable on eBay, and the only problem that I have with it is that when I unplug my phone from the cable or unplug the cable from the computer, my computer immediately shuts down. It'll boot back into Windows okay, but there is always a message saying that Windows "has recovered from a serious error."

This REALLY makes me mad. I always have to make sure that nothing else that I want saved is running, or else I'll lose it. I think I'm goin' to Radio Shack today to buy the cable above...or at least try to order it if they don't have it in stock.

You can get the cable directly from radio shacks website or go ask the sales rep if he has this model number ( give him there part number) and he will prob say no but I can get it for you. He ordered me one and was shipped to my house in 4 days w/ free S&H

I t sounds like the curitel drivers are not very stable or the egay cable has some issues. I can pull my cable out of my usb port all day long and XP just makes a noise and unloads the drivers from memory the way it should.

I purchased my first cable from verizion MOK address book, web connection and cable. The cable worked fine for ~ 2 weeks. No I get the same error as kfosh and XP sometime tells me that a USB device had malfunctioned. I like vox8900 went to Radio Shack today and asked for one. The didn't have it but ordered and will ship it to me no S&H 2-3 days delivery.

The Radio Shack cable is actually for the LG VX6000. It works with the Audiovox 8900.
