I know this is the sucker way to get ringtones, but not all of us use the cable...So, that being said does anyone know the best program for getting ringtones off Get It Now, because the ones that I have tried are all quite. I f someone could inform me that'd be great.

Having snooped around, I have discovered the following:

1 - There are sites with FREE ringtones!
B - On some sites, when you listen to the RTs they are loaded onto your computer. A simple search will find 'em.
C - Other sites will let you listen to and download their midi RTs!
4 - You CAN upload wallpaper, ringtones and other goodies to your phone with the url below. (evil grin)

http://www.vzwpix.com/mlib/index.jsp

You'll wanna schtick this URL in your Favourites collection. I used these steps and it's WAY simple.

I'm paraphrasing from the other (ahem) location where I found these noteables.

- You can upload up to 3 files at a time.
- File totals should not exceed 358400 bytes
- Registration is Unnecessary!

Les instructiones:

From the Verizon Pix Place Homepage, click on CREATE or Create a Message. Type in your Cell number for the TO: field and enter a Subject. Use FROM PC as the location to Browse to the midi files, or files to be uploaded. If you're uploading midi files, you'll see the graphic for notes.

Then hit Send and Woohoo! Ringtones and whatnot fo' free!

When the files arrive, it'll take a little futzing around to save the files to your Media locale, and then when you get to the settings, you'll choose your Downloads as the Ringtones for this, that and yadda-yadda.

Uploading things through vzwpix.com only works with camera phones.

I tried uploading a ringtone through vzwpix.com, but only received a text message telling me "You've got a Picture or Video Message! To see it, visit www.vzwpix.com/mlib/getpix/ from any computer and follow the instructions."

I tried using Mobile Web and couldn't find anyway to bring the file into my phone.

What am I doing wrong. Is there something I need to call VZW about to enable downloading files? Any detailed information would be nice.

Thanks.

You positive? I don't know why the camera addition would matter, since you're just sending yourself a file. Kinda like sending a Txt message... you are just sending info to your 10 digit phone number.

The first file I sent to my phone was 3 ringtones.

Maybe the original author of the thread can say. And I'd like to take this moment to apologize for not having noticed the difference between their 8600 and my 8900. I saw the subject line and jumped on it, since I had a new 25¢ discovery.
