UPDATE: Radio Shack Cable Changed!!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I had been using a generic data cable, that I bought on eBay, for about three weeks. Today I went and bought the Radio Shack Data Cable #17-792, which by their catalog is supposed to look like this:

But instead, it now has the box in the middle. I asked the Sales Rep. if she was sure that it was the same cable, and she said that the straight-through style of cable was being discontinued and this is the replacement for it!! It is still the same catalog number, but it is different. The good news, though, is it works!

I hope that it still will work with everyone elses.

Hi,

Can I ask, why did you buy this cable? ie. What advantage does it have over the generic ebay?

I am waiting for my ebay cable to arrive - you got me a little worried

Cheers

Future Dial has come out with a new cable designed specifically for the Audiovox 8900: http://www.futuredial.com/matrix/M_Audiovox.htm

The 17-792 Radioshack cable was made for the LGV6000, but half ××× works with the 8900. I would recommend going with the right cable...

The eBay cable that I bought, crashed my machine every time I unplugged my phone from the cable or unplugged my cable from the computer. It was the cable that took the Curitel drivers.

I hope yours works!
