mp3 file on 8900??

tried putting castles in the sky mp3 file from one of the zips, doesn't play on my phone though. has anyone successfully gotten a small clip of an mp3 to play on their 8900? please let me know if you can e-mail me a sample or tell me where i can get them. thanks.

quite a few of us have mp3 ringtones. change the suffix from .mp3 to .mid trim it to less than 20 seconds.

mp3's are just as easy as midi's. Just get a sound editor online somewhere like Adobe Audition ( formerly Cool Edit Pro) and copy out a section of song you think will be a good ringer and paste it as a new track. Then save it as a 40kbs 22050Hz Mono. Change the .mp3 to .mid . A 20 sec clip should be about 80-120 kb. I overwrote a 6kb mid with it and it works fine. One bad thing about an 80kb file or greater is that it wont start playing until the caller hears the 2nd ring because the phone has to load it into memory and decode it before you hear it out of the speaker.
