8600 screen freeze

for some reason, yesterday my 8600's external screen froze, as in i can see it perfectly, but it was frozen, i.e time was different from the actual time (and the time on the inside screen) , the RF level was different etc..but the screen wasnt off, i powered off and powered back on and it has been working fine since...
is this a software issue?
