im having problems doing this... i put them in the root as custwakeup.gif and custgoodbye.gif, and changed 0032_0001, 004a_0001 to allow custom startups. i also disabled the moto startups. yet still when i turn on/shut off the phone, i see no startup/shutdown at all...

my seems with the startup name "custwakeup.gif" were incorrect... also, in order to have a custom startup image, a Greeting (in Personalize) cannot be set... there u go

1- Turn Off Motorola Startup/Shutdown
-Startup is in 0032_0001.seem at offset 1D, bit #3. (set to 0)
-Shutdown is in 0032_0001.seem at offset 31, bit #0. (set to 0)
2- Turn On Custom Startup/Shutdown Animation
-Custom startup is in 004a_0001.seem at offset 27. (set to 1)
-Custom shutdown is in 0032_0001.seem at offset 46, bit #0. (set to 1)
3- Upload the below seems to the phone
4- Use 176x220 Animated Gifs, and upload them to the phone as: "/a/custwakeup.gif" and "/a/custgoodbye.gif"
5- You then have Custom Startups for the Vxxx!!
