I'm about to buy a new phone that I can afford and use with Voicestream. I want to compare the Nokia 8390, the Motorola V60 and the Sony Ericsson T68M. Any comments? I'm also going to post this on the Voicestream forum, so don't get annoyed ...

From looks

v60 looks the best. I like nokia.. Dont know about Sony Ericsson

I would say the T68m...
Ericsson always puts tonnes of features in their phones and plus it looks great...
Motorola V60 is an incrediable design (better then V70), but I dunno about the features seems like a dull phone to me...

Nokia 8390... Look below...

What seems to be the problem with the nokia 8390?

I ha it, its pis*ed me off and I got a 8290 afterwards (which is now gone)...
I was happy to get rid of it!
I cannot go into further detail without you using alot of four letter words...

8390 - singleband
v60 - tri-band
t68 - tri-band

t68 has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more functions than a v60 or 8390

v60 doesn't even have IrDA, unlike the 8390 and t68

the t68 is the only one w/ BT built-in, colour screen

....but he said T68m. Had one, hated it, glad I returned it. Poor poor poor reception. Also not real imressed with the Motorola menu system, so the easy choice for me would be the 8390.

t68m - bluetooth(whats the use of this if it costs as much as the phone?) color screen(its pretty crappy looking even if it is color screened)

v60 - everything a gsm phone would have

8390 - everything plus more! countdown timer......stopwatch.....and its only $149 or $99 with mail-in rebate...its so worth it!

BUT...
the 6590 came out and it has everything an 8390 has PLUS an FM Radio and receiving multimedia messages! but trust me...BUY ANOTHER FACEPLATE...ugh the original plate is pale gold and ugly like heck

i think PANASONIC went overboard when trying to make the smallest and lightest phone...geez...its lighter than a glue stick. it would take like 10 of those phones to match the weight of an 8260!

The 8390 is over priced, and costs as much as a T68i which is triple band, bluetooth, mms, gprs, and MOREEE

... so then who would be stupid enough to buy a 8390 for the same price as T68i??

Posted by: dna48363

People are suckers for Nokia.

id rather use a startac than a t68, hearing that the feedback is way too sluggish...........1 second to look through one menu icon??????????????????????? seriously that would piss me off

Posted by: dna48363

It seriously depends, because I have heard stories, but my T68i does NOT act slow (except for when you first turn it on, and when you are writing a lengthy SMS).

my cousins are using T68I. Not bad...but reception can be a bad thing if you frequently locate in areas where bad reception is there.

I've tried V60. Can't really pick any flaw except a slightly more-sofisicated menu system.

But right now I'm using S40. Something you need a Ph.D in major of cellphone menu and CCNP in network configuration...go figure. But I grow to like this phone.

8390...used it couple times...honestly, treat it as 8290 + GPRS, and that's about it. Honestly, not many of my friends are using this...
