8600 problem loading images

Hi,
I am using an Audiovox 8600 from Verizon and the cable that comes in the Mobile Office Kit.
I have installed BitPIM .61 and VoxEditor 2.1. I was able to upload ringers to my phone, but unable to successfully get images on it.
The images and the text file appear updated in the BitPIM directory listing. However, when I go to Display, Graphic Settings and then Wallpaper: the only options are Download Image or EMS. EMS says no image and Download Image just hangs when I select it, showing the hourglass.
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? I am sure it is user error, but not sure what error I made.
Thanks,
Charley

I had the same problem, but when I managed to make my images less than 8k, as suggested in another thread (http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=253375),
things then worked.

YMMV, but I found that a file 11,151 bytes worked. Another 11,309 didn't. There might be other factors, but both were non-interlaced.

A few folks suggested reducing both number of colors and image size and this solved the problem!
One could hope for a real operaing system in the phone that would say upon loading the image that it was too big and not hang...but I guess we are still a few years away from that. ;-(
Thanks!
