8900 still wont connect

Ok so i bought the 8900. Verizon never told me i couldn't connect it to my computer. As a matter of fact i asked the lady and she said " I think so." She technically didn't lie. I can duct tape it to the computer, it is technally connected. No Verizon wants me to pay them 25 cents for a pic. For 25 cents a pic i could use film and get a much better pic. Ill pay verizon extra over my dead body. I would like to put cool ring tones and stuff on my phone, but ill settle for getting the pictures off it. So i buy a cable ( its one of those frankenstein cables with a box in the middle). I use bitpim and the drivers that came with it...... Didnt work. So i install the futuredial drivers... no good. Tried the Curtel drivers... u guessed it nope. I have tried every version of bitpim and am currently playing with 7.11. i can download my phone book using that curitel sync app. Compleatley useless but reassuring. I have read everything in the forum and still have no clue. I could have gotten an old school nokia for free. no pics there either, but at least its got games. Does anyone have any idea how to make this thing work?

We need a little more info than " It won't work". We need error messages? Does is show up in device manager? Whats your OS? Is it an EGay cable or Radio Shack?
