So, Who here is a mastermind of the 8900? I have a metroPCS model and was wondering if a files.zip backup of my phone could be of any use to you.
if so, pm me.

P.S.
Successes:
1, count em 1 midi ringtone that could not be assigned.
**I just need to get off my ××× and add $10 to my BREW acct so i can get some seeds.**
I can get it to dial the modem, so we will see how well it works tomorrow (wouldn't it be sweet to have a minuteless cellphone that acts like a modem HAHAHAHA no more t-mobile starbucks account for me)
I have deleted files from the usr/ringer/ directory on numerous occasions with no reprocussion (yes im brave, ?I know the guys at the wireless shop, besides, I dull have a full tree backup... so I can stand to get a new phone)
Failures:
MP3 format ringtones, at one point I got the phone to lock up, unlock after mashing the keypad, and make strange noises until I rebooted it.
after upgrading to bitpim 0.7.13 it crashes before bitpim loads.... back to v 0.62
anyone know where I can get 0.7.11? I hear alot of people r using that one with success.

1) read through the tutorial threads.
2) CID420420 is the master and commander of the 8900.
3) you can find ALL of the versions of bitpim at their homesite here:

Thats who I though it was =) Thanks for the info.
I successfully got my phone to lock up by renaming a pic taken by the internal camera to "Chris loves Beer" and when I try to show/delete the pic on the phone, it locks on show, I have to pull the batt, and it says not a valid file when I try to rename/delete.
Odd... I think Ill download the pics I took, and re-upload my latest root archive.
