My brother and I are getting P900's, and he wanted me to ask you guys a few questions about it (he doesn't have a HoFo account).

Right now he has a T-Mobile Sidekick.

He wanted to know about the following things:

1. How is the reception on the phone? I have AT&T and he has T-Mobile, and we live in Los Angeles if that helps. He might be switching to AT&T. I dunno. But I told him anything is better than his Sidekick.

2. How is the Bluetooth?

3. How good does the web work? The Sidekick is pretty good at web surfing (about the only thing its good at) so he wants to keep that.

4. Is it good for picking up e-mail? Also, I wanted to know if you could get your AOL mail from it?

5. Is it easy to text message? I told him it has T9 Predictive Text, which I have on my 3650, and it works wonders. I dunno how well the Jot system works though.

6. How well does the AOL IM work? I think there's Agile Messenger and something else for it to use for Instant Messaging. How well do those work?

7. Does it have good PDA capabilities? We're beginner PDA users, so it doesn't have to neccessarily match up with Palm or anything, just something pretty decent.

Thanks for all the help everyone. $700 is a lot to spend on the device, so we're just doing research and asking around making sure we make the right decision. Again, thanks in advance for any advice/help.

... you and your brother will enjoy the P900 just fine.

I am also in the LA area. The free wap from tmobile works great with my p900. You could use it to send and recieve any pop2/imap based email with the built-in client.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about getting a memory stick reader. Any suggestions?

yup that may help, but upgrading to 128MB duo will be more necessary, good luck and hoping that you do take good care of it, never ever drop it, it is such a powerful phone.... deep inside

Oh god never drop it ! I Dropped did once 6 months ago .. and it still hurts inside up to this day !

I dropped mine last week, someone upstair was looking out for me though. I dropped it when I was on the grass, never will I let that happened again.

A 128 MB Memory Stick Duo was already on my to-get list.

I dropped my 3650 a bunch of times when I first got it, but I got better at taking care of it. This phone is a lot more sturdier and solid. I like the shape more too. It setttles in my hand a little better. It's an awesome phone. I'm gonna try my best not to drop it!

better be, or you feel sorry everytime you see those scratches, upgading to a 128mb duo sure is fun and no worry of memory needs, good luck and do take care of this piece of ××××, lol
