How do i make the .mid smaller?

Im trying to upload the .mid to the phone, and the phone keeps giving me an error message, and I think its because the file is too big. How big should a .mid file be? And how do i get it to that size, say, by using Cool Edit?

I forgot where I found it , but I thinkit was in the Cricket 8900 thread on top.
