The P900 seems like a cool cellphone/PDA but i think SE needs to introduce the successor to the P900. don't you guys think?

I sure hope so, I liked the P800, but UIQ doesn't really have the variety of productivity apps to make it strong competition against PPC and Palm. I mean, when the P800 came out, it was a smartphone and the convergence was cool...but now they need to get serious effort into app development...and add GSM 850 and EDGE

There should be some news soon

what is UIQ?(please explain in detail). will the S700 be UIG too? what are the chances that the next P900 be a windowd platform? also, 3G would be perfect for the next P900 alog with 1.3+ megapixel camera.

SE is dude to announce new handsets this month. The P910/P1000 (if you do a search) will have a blackberry email client and a keyboard/keypad.

dude? lol

anyways, what's a blackberry email?

and do you really think SE will announce a P910 and it's successor P1000 at the same time?

I have a real terrible keyboard I'm using.

Blackberry is made by RIM. Many corproations use blackberry devices. I think the successor is going to be the P1000.

I recaled SE was going to make a smaller scale P800 but never happened or maybe it'll be announced. Who knows.

smaller P800, u mean the P200? i heard the same thing too!

i cant wait to see what SE is got instore for us, frankly, im using the 7610(used to have the 6600) but im getting sick of Nokia....thier screens are tiny, feel almost claustrophobic! lol

i need a change.....it's either the next P900 for me or the S700.

tine? clusterphobic? LOL.

I'm getting my P900 in 2 days, can't wait. It'll be my 2nd time...long story. S700 will be an amazing phone and the biggest contrast between that and the P900 is the ability to install fully featured programs. In the case of the S700, you'd have to install java apps. Looks like a tempting device though, but I need my apps and to be able to keep in touch with people other than by phone and sms abilities.

why ar eu getting the P900 when SE will announce new phones this month(P910,P1000)?

also, you're buying the P900 for the second time? why? and btw, whats the GPRS on it?

thanks!

Hey you know technology waits for no-one so the P900 is 'old' news. Look forward to the new starting with the S700 and upwards. I think we should see WiFi/EDGE in the announcements this month and improved camcorder/screen like in the S-series. I will update when I see more than I already have in my P900 but it will probably be 2005 so maybe i'll get the S700 to complement my current smartphone.

its the interface, all Symbian phones are based on Symbian Operating System, but there are different looks or appearences that can be put on it. SE and BenQ and Motorola use UIQ. Nokia and Siemens use Series 60. Nokia also has made Series 80 and Series 90.

UIQ allows for the use of touch screen and the way the screen looks. S700 won't use Symbian OS (hence no UIQ).

Yup, RIM makes Blackberry email which is also known as a type of push email. Basically, email comes super fast. Its is jokingly known as Crackberry because it is so fast.

When I bought it the first time, my friend wanted it so bad so I sold it to him cause I had already owned it for a week. Why am I getting it a second time? Cause I'm paying half of what everybody pays so when I resell it, I won't lose any money on it. SE is announcing phones in July, not releasing them. I can wait. I'll let the labrats test out the phones and complain about the bugs and then I'll buy one months down the road.

Thats what I'm doing too.

I just got my P900 a week ago. I was getting tired of my 3650, getting jealous of people with 6600's and P900's, and I had a willing buyer of my 3650, so I decided to make the move.

There's some good devices coming, like the P900 successor. The MPX looks good too. But we all know how long it takes for phones to get announced then delayed then hit the market. And once it comes out, I like to wait for some reviews and user opinions first to make sure it's not just a paperweight and for bugs, etc. to get fixed. I figure the P900 will hold me over for at least a year, if not more. But if I suddenly come into some money somehow I'll probably snatch up a new phone every time something good comes along. I can't afford to pay 500+ for phones every few months though.

Being a tech addict is expensive...
