How do you tell what software version an S40 has?

Press *#06# to display the IMEI, then press up or down on the volume key

Its as simple as that is it? I wondered if Siemens had an equivalent of Nokia's *#0000# that tells you the software version. Sensibly Siemens have put it all under the one option.

i'd advise you not to press *#0000# on your s40 becuase it will do an automatic language selection and you'll be stuck on german...lol

The S40 is manufactured in Denmark. But it doesn't make sense to equal "Automatic" with one specific language, doesn't it? Of course the automatic language is taken from the SIM country code!

Why, do you doubt Frank? What type of SIM are you using? If it's from one of your US providers, I'm pretty confident that the default language will be in English. So it is nothing too "daring" to try this.
