Whats up guys...
Just wanted to let you guys know about my situation...
Have had the Slider for about 2 days, absolutely love it...best phone i've had, only problem is I knew i would be crazy and anal about the screen. So anyway, i wake up on the 3rd day and I have a nice deep scratch across the middle of the front display and I have no idea how to get it shaved down so its not as visible. Tried displex, toothpaste, car wax...but nothing helps...the scratch is too deep ( i can feel the groove when i run my finger across it). So fixing this scratch is not going to happen, and finding out how the hell i got it is going to drive me crazy too. But that is irrelevant as of right now, i use a clip, dont put the phone in my pocket, havent dropped it, and havent bumped the phone against anywalls...its only been 2 days and i've been sick in bed with the flu..so i dont know how the hell it happened.
Anyway, i just wanted to rant about the housings that are available for this phone. I have changed a lot of housings in my day for other phones and I thought I would have a nice selection for the se47...I was wrong. I am also a little upset that the housing kits dont come with non flashing/matching batteries. *i have only looked on daydeal/ebay/and some other cell hpone sites. I refuse to put a clear housing with the OEM silver battery...and I certainly cant go into my office with a flashing battery, people will look at me like i have 4 heads.
All i wanted was a smoked housing or clear housing with a matching battery, non flashing...is that so hard...jesus. lol.
I guess i'll just have to replcae the front faceplate instead of the entire housing until more housings and matching batteries come along. Unless I get the AM silver...but even the aftermarket silver might not match the silver OEM battery.
Just wanted to rant and vent a little...im pissed about the scratch and it seems my only solution is to just change the faceplate, but i want a matching NON flashing battery for a smoked housing.
Ok, ill shut up now.
P.S. i could just damage all the soldered leds on the battery, no more flash...but that might not work either.
ok, ill shut up now. peace.

For future reference, but might try putting a screen protector on your phone. What I did was take a sheet of my PDA's screen protector and cut it out to fit exactly. Presto, a clear film that can be replaced while keeping the actual cover new.

yes, did that this morning as well.
what im thinking of now is....perhaps the OEM battery can be pulled off of the back casing. I think its just a regular battery that is glued into the back casing/housing and if you remove it, u can put it into another battery housing as well. that might be it as well.

If you really don't want the battery match to be a huge issue I'd get the full silver housing. The reason I recommend this over just the faceplate is I tried to mix-and-match colors by getting a full housing and then just a different color faceplate. The two didn't fit together well enough for me to be comfortable with it. You may get just the faceplate, then get the whole phone apart just to find it doesn't fit well with the OEM housing, and that would be a bummer.

yeah pgens...looks like thats my only option.
A full silver AM housing with the original OEM batt.
I'll have to do that until someone comes out with clear blue, frost, smoke batteries without the flashing leds that will match the appropriate housing.
thanks .

I heard the smoke green housing looks pretty good with the OEM battery. Just remember hearing it. I know around here that they have a stand in the mall with abunch of faceplates. I just went there and looked to see what was good with the battery and then have searched for that color housing.

If you want to see how the smoke green looks with the OEM battery go to the Replaced Slider Housing - Lessons Learned thread, where I post pictures of my slider with it.
