What the hell is wrong with this POS software?!@#?

Firstly, it seems irDA is actually faster then USB!!!

Then irDa is sooo tempremental, one out of range, and the only way to get em talking again, is to like reset the program, or disconect the irda, or do something really wierd...

BUT MOST importantly!!!!

I'm an sms freak, and the GX30, doesn't hold anywhere near enough sms's... so i'm forced to transfer them onto the "software"

BUT!!!!!

The crap software keeps saying
Failed to download short message item 8 in the sim memory

WHY!@?#1?? Why be so gay for? How do I get arround this? How can I even work out, what item sim8 is?
Any ideas?

Good thing we have a forum for the sharp fones, or else I'd really be lost!!!!

Anyone have any helpful solutuions?

dunno any solution....I rarely use the software because it sucks _ _ _ I just usually use my sd card reader to transfer stuff.

But yea, I wish that there's another software.

I have an SD-Card reader! But the messages are stored on the phone and sim....

How can I move em, to the reader?

I'm almost certain you can't.

Well I eventually got tru it....

For some reason, USB and IRdA transfers, both came up with the same errors...

But I lowered the connection speed of the irDa to 38400, and even though, it took a real long time to transfer all those sms's... it eventually got tru.

Sorry for the late reply, but my phpne GX30, only put about 8sms's on the actual sim card, and the rest were on the phone.

The phone, did not let you move them arround, and I could never work out, which messages, were saved on the sim and which weren't.

But I am positive, that it stored them on both.

Use the phone manager software, and some sort of pc interface. Go to messages, and start transfering.

Hmm.. thats wierd...

Try this

Go to
http://www.matweb-twe.com.tw/USB/Phmgr/USBGX20.zip

Thats the latest version of the phone manager software, and click on messages icon (looks like envelopes), on the left hand side. From there click on the phone icon with a down arrow (signifying download messages from the phone) and it should be good.

If your still havbing problems, take a screenshot of the phone manager software, and we can go from there... but it should be there.

Thats stupid!

I was kinda lucky, in that I bought a cheap car charger for my phone off eBay, and they accidently sent me the data cable for $5 .

I didn't say anything and then bought another car charger for $5

THough, my irDa works probably better then the data cable does, as I discovered during this thread.
